A recipient of several prestigious awards like ‘The Governors Prize’, ‘The Harmony Award’ for Best Emerging Artist and ‘Bendre-Hussain Scholarship’,.

His works are evidence of exploration, a commentary on art, contemporary life by combining images and forms to construct human reality. Our socio-politically fragmented society is saturated with the opulence of images, which signify ideas of radical modernist utopia; as an archivist of the new world, he processes these images and forms that originate from experiences, which formulate a relationship between shared sense of philosophies, self and world. He is interested in how 'meaning' is created. His paintings deal with subjects that carry a historical set of references and also recognises that collective memory is constantly challenged by enigmatic prophetic actions, concealed in personal folds of the temporal linearity.

Defying coherent definitions, Ratnadeep has upraised methodologies and subject matters alike throughout his artistic oeuvre, where he synergises metaphors from various contradictory or unpredicted sources, both historical and contemporary. The use of varied materials and techniques in his works is a testimony to his artistic multiplicity, underlined with a consistent resistance to any form of classification. Throughout his practice, he has rejected mechanical interventions by obstinately exploring the visual effects of mechanical technology by hand - oftentimes prolonged and physically demanding.

Ratnadeep's artworks have been placed in several prestigious private and public collections, nationally as well as internationally.

The artist works and lives between Mumbai, Dubai, and Berlin.
